Question 1. What was your most memorable weather event?
It was a severe thunderstorm when I was at day camp in Maine. It was swim time. I told everyone it was coming, but no one would listen to me. I had already learned the most severe weather came from the west and I watched it developing over the lake. I actually faked being sick so I could change out of my bathing suit. The storm was so bad they brought busses in to take us home early. I was one of the few people to not have to go home in a bathing suit.
Question 2. What is your favourite and least favourite type of weather?
A classic snowstorm is my favorite type of weather as long as we keep power. I hate freezing rain.
Question 3. If you weren't a meteorologist what would you most like to be?
Professor and entrepreneur
Question 4. From a purely meteorological point of view, where would you most like to live?
Portland, Me, my home town. They get all types of great weather.
Question 5. Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I love teaching weather and explaining why something is happening more than the event itself. I don’t oversimplify my forecast I’d rather have people ask questions. I also never hype the weather, there is too much of that in media today.
