Question 1. What was your most memorable weather event?

Tignes snow - nearly 6 feet of snow fell in 4 days while on a skiing holiday in February 1999. An avalanche missed our coach by 10 feet but buried several cars in front. Fortunately all were rescued and suffered no injuries. It was the same week of the Galtür Avalanche that killed 31 people

Question 2. What is your favourite and least favourite type of weather?

Favourite - snow, thick, heavy snow. Least favourite - any hot temperatures, above 22 degrees Celsius. I'm a hot weather lightweight.

Question 3. If you weren't a meteorologist what would you most like to be?

As professional photographer I'm lucky enough to be able to choose my subject matter, so I would keep on taking photos of the weather and landscapes

Question 4. From a purely meteorological point of view, where would you most like to live?

Iceland! Fantastic place. Never too hot, plenty of snow, lots of Atlantic storms, northern lights, mid-night sun...need I go on!?

Question 5. Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I once applied for a job at the airport to take hourly weather readings. I was rejected.
Also have recently been nominated as world weather photographer of the year for this image.
Also...I created StormHour - it's all about the weather geek in me!
