Question 1. What was your most memorable weather event?

The Blizzard of '93 aka The Storm of the Century. It was what cemented my love for all things weather. I was 12 years old at the time and was living in PG County, Maryland. This thing dumped a ton of snow - more than I had ever seen. It was up to my waist. From that day, I wanted to know the how and why behind our weather. Plus, we got off from school for an entire week. Can't beat that.

Question 2. What is your favourite and least favourite type of weather?

Two answers for this. My favorite type of weather to be in is Blue skies and temps in the 70s. Basically, a crisp fall day is my ideal weather.
My favorite weather to forecast is Wintry Weather. #NerdAlert but I enjoy looking at temperature profiles to decide whether snow, sleet, freezing rain or just plain rain will fall.
Least favorite weather to be in is a chilly rain. When the dreaded wedge takes over the Southeast, it’s awful. Socked in with the clouds, dreary, and cold. No fun!
Least favorite weather to forecast is quiet weather. I love being under blue skies but when the country gets quiet weather wise, it makes the day go by so much slower.

Question 3. If you weren't a meteorologist what would you most like to be?

I’d be doing something in Sports, like working for ESPN. I’m a huuuuuuuge sports fan so that would have been my second choice. In fact, my first day of class in my Senior year in college, my professor asked everyone what they wanted to do after graduation. My decision was between being a sports anchor or a Meteorologist. At that moment, I made the decision and stuck with it.

Question 4. From a purely meteorological point of view, where would you most like to live?

Somewhere in the Midwest, like Kansas City or St. Louis. They see every type of weather you can imagine throughout the year. It would be a challenging place to forecast.

Question 5. Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Don’t be afraid to chat with me on Twitter or Facebook. I always enjoy talking with folks during the show.
